This is the second in a series of two maps that I designed as an employee with UW-Madison’s Department of Transportation Services.  The first of the maps was made in AutoCAD with some finishing touches made by UW-Madison’s Department of Communications.  The next year, fresh off of a semester of cartographic training, my employer obtained Abobe Illustrator and I made this piece.  Over four years later, they continue to update this version for annual publication.

A closer look at the simple base map design in conjunction with the attention-getting moped parking locations. This design allows for the most important data, the moped parking spots to catch the reader’s eye first.
