This Advanced Cartography homework piece was an attempt to improve a tourist map published by a local company.  To do this, I included important tourist features including golf courses, shopping malls, and a detailed road network.  I also added park, suburban, and university areas to the map.  I used transparencies and a soft-color scheme to keep this map “easy on the eyes” and to bring the points of interest to the forefront of the visual hierarchy.
